I understand the value of electronic texts, as you state: less clutter etc but for some nebulous reason I seem to miss nuances and layers when reading fiction off the screen.

Hi Jeremy
Walter and his flatulent ways is certainly a winner with kids.
For his adult fiction I can highly recommend 'The Fan Man' and also 'The Bear Went Over the Mountain.'Dr Rat' is on my own 'to-read' list.Anthony Panegyreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02779674503088900337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7919775782642545848.post-85556477545897938302012-04-28T20:20:29.846-07:002012-04-28T20:20:29.846-07:00I looked up Kotswinkle and I see that he also wrot...I looked up Kotswinkle and I see that he also wrote - Walter the Farting Dog. ;)

Kids love that book and his others in that series - they borrow it form the library I work in all the time.Jeremyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05063686203602541260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7919775782642545848.post-30431738436750527132012-04-28T18:09:52.069-07:002012-04-28T18:09:52.069-07:00You'd be surprised how many famous books are o...You'd be surprised how many famous books are out of print or very hard to get. Try getting anything by Rosemary Sutcliff. Some are still around, probably because of the Eagle movie, but you have to ask for them to be ordered in. Bookshops just won't keep books more than a month or so. And here in Oz, since the GST came in, publishers don't often keep back lists. With digital so big, the ones you mention might be on ebook - it works out cheaper for publishers than having a warehouse full of hard copy titles.Sue Bursztynskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09362273418897882971noreply@blogger.com
